Fund mandate

Trinitas is a “diversified specialist” private equity fund, investing across most industries with the exception of direct resources (specifically mining and agriculture). Trinitas seeks to partner with management teams to make equity investments in mid-market companies in Southern Africa. The mid-market sector, broadly comprises companies with enterprise values of R100 million to R1 billion. These are typically larger private companies and smaller listed companies. The following are the Fund’s key investment criteria:


investment type: management buy-outs and buy-ins, replacement or acquisition capital investments, expansion/growth capital investments

companies with a history of profit and predictable cash flows

companies which are either market leaders or significant players in their sector

the Fund takes equity stakes which are sufficient to offer significant influence over portfolio companiestypical equity investment by the Fund of between R50 million to R150 million per transaction

able to introduce BEE partners on a deal by deal basis with the emphasis on bringing strategic value and enhancing growth of the business

investment horizon of 3-7 years
